The 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid delivers style and power all in one. This vehicle has been around since 1993, but it was only in 2004 that it started gaining recognition as a safe and stylish option. This SUV has undergone multiple changes, including becoming larger than its original design. But what will the 2024 model offer on the roads?
The 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid culminates the designs and evolutions this vehicle has gone through to create the ultimate SUV. However, it doesn’t show significant changes from the 2023 version. The minor changes are the standard projection-type LED deadlights and rear seat-mounted airbags.
All the models have a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine and a 44.2 kW Hybrid System Motor that delivers a combined 258 lb-ft of torque and 227 horsepower. However, switching to the PHEV engine (Hybrid system + Electric motor) can provide up to 261 horsepower and 224 lb-ft of torque.
You can fully charge the vehicle within two hours using a Level 2 charger. The HEV models have a 6.1 L/100 km fuel efficiency in the city and a 6.3 L/100 km one of the highway. Meanwhile, the PHEV has a combined fuel efficiency of 6.7 L/100 km if you’re considering the gas-only and a 2.8 Le/100 km energy consumption for the gas and electric system combined.
There are six exterior colours, and the EX trims have LED and bulb combination taillights. Standard features include a gloss black grille, a heated windshield, and rain-sensing wipers. Projection LED headlights are only available for the SX trims, and the smart power liftgate is only available for trims other than HEV EX. The trims other than the base trim also have quilt-patterned synthetic leather seating.
All models have a 12.3-inch multimedia display with integrated navigation and Kia Connect. However, the SX trims also have a 12.3-inch Supervision LCD/TFT instrument cluster. It also features a premium Harman Kardon sound system instead of a six-speaker audio system.
Smart Cruise Control, a rearview camera featuring Dynamic Parking Guidelines and electronic stability control are all available. Most regular driver assistance features are available, but only the SX trims have Rear Parking Collision Avoidance Assist, Highway Drive Assist, and Around View Monitor, among other features.
